HIRO, leader of EXILE, a performer, and president of his agency, LDH, was born in Hiroshima Prefecture on June 1, 1969. His real name is Hiroyuki Igarashi.
In 1989, he participated in the dance contest for LMD on the TV show "DADA," and in 1990, LMD changed its name to "ZOO" and debuted. In 1991, he formed the dance unit "Japanese Soul Brothers" and participated as a support member on tours with Bobby Brown and Dreams Come True.
After ZOO disbanded in 1995, he re-debuted as "LUV DELUXE," but disbanded the following year. In 1999, he debuted as "J Soul Brothers," and after a lineup change, the group changed its name to "EXILE" in 2001. This marks his fourth debut. In 2002, HIRO founded EXILE Entertainment LLC (now LDH). He became its president, and in addition to EXILE, his roster includes Sandaime J Soul Brothers, E-girls, Jun Hasegawa, RIKACO, and Mayumi Sada, among others, for whom HIRO also serves as their producer. LDH also launched its apparel business in 2006, offering fashion rooted in dance culture through the apparel brand "24karats," the unisex casual wear brand "24karatsSURF," and the jewelry line "Enasoluna," produced by model Mayumi Sada. 24karats' brand mook, "Monthly EXILE Special Edition: 24Karats BRAND BOOK November 2012," published last October, proved so popular that it sold out in bookstores. There are often long queues at the shop in Nakameguro, Tokyo.
In 2005, he released a book about his career titled "B-Boy Salaryman" and a DVD titled "ZOO→JSB→EXILE".
In 2012, he married actress Ueto Aya. In 2013, it was announced that he would retire as an EXILE performer to focus on his work as leader and producer.
