125 years ago, MIKIMOTO founder Kokichi Mikimoto became the first in the world to successfully create pearls by hand. The exhibition will explore the allure of pearls from a variety of perspectives, including a section where you can visually experience rare pearls and their mother oysters, the process and history of pearl formation, a VR section where you can take a virtual trip to the ocean where pearls grow, and a mirror room with an endless display of high-end jewelry made with colorful pearls.

During the exhibition, on August 7th and 8th, a gallery talk titled "Learn the Secrets of Pearls with a Pearl Expert" will be held, where elementary school students can learn about pearls. Three times a day at 11:30, 2:00, and 4:00, for approximately 15 minutes each session, staff from the Mikimoto Pearl Laboratory will explain how pearls are made, and visitors can touch real pearls and mother oysters to experience their secrets. Applications are being accepted through a special form on the website (https://www.mikimoto.com/jp/news/180710/01.htm) until July 27th. The program is aimed at elementary school students in grades 3 to 6 and one parent/guardian, with a maximum of 10 to 15 participants per session. Participation is free.
Why not experience a virtual trip connected to pearls at this unique exhibition, unique to Mikimoto, which has inherited the founder's dream of "adorning women around the world with pearls" and has been pursuing the beauty of pearls for 125 years?
