A tea-themed event featuring over 100 varieties of tea from around the world will be held in Aoyama!

Event Date:2018.07.21-07.22
Jul 9, 2018
"Tea for Peace -2018 Summer," the second edition of "Tea for Peace," an event that brings together over 100 types of tea from all over Japan and the world, will be held for two days from July 21st in the United Nations University courtyard in Aoyama, Tokyo.

This event allows you to enjoy tea from not only Japan but all over the world in a variety of ways, along with food and sweets that go perfectly with tea. Through a variety of programs, we will propose a wide range of ways to enjoy tea, from Japanese tea to black tea, Chinese tea, herbal tea, and spices.

For the "Tasting of Approximately 100 Types of Tea," purchase a custom cup at the ticket counter and enjoy tasting the teas available at the venue on the day while listening to the brewers and brewers speak. The cups are made of ceramic, rather than paper or plastic, for a smooth taste and unobstructed aroma, allowing you to discover the unique character of each tea. If you find a tea you like, you can purchase it on the spot.

A special, one-day-only lunch event will also be held. Guests will be invited to enjoy a tea-based lunch course created by Chef Mikio Morieda, owner of the unique and creative Tokyo restaurant "Salmon & Trout." His goal is to create delicious and enjoyable food. (Advance reservation required)

Popular gelato shop "FLOTO" in Sangubashi will be collaborating with an event for the first time to sell limited-edition gelato. Two types of gelato will be made using "PRANA CHAI," an Australian Ceylon tea-based brand with fresh wet tea leaves, and "Hana" tea from Coffee No Hana, a coffee bean producer in Japan, as well as FLOTO's popular matcha and roasted green tea gelatos, which will be served as mochi.

Tea will be brewed by Kazuhiro Koyama and Hibiki Fujioka, owners of "saten," a coffee and tea shop in Nishi-Ogikubo that specializes in brewing. Tea brewing offers endless possibilities, from teapots and teapots to cold brews and drip brews. By choosing your preferred tea from over 10 varieties of unique teas from the farmers gathered at the venue and selecting five different brewing methods, you can experience a slightly different tea experience.

Tea cocktails, a popular addition to the first event, will also be back this year, with guest bartender Shuichi Obuchi. This mysterious fusion of unexpected ideas and nostalgic flavors will explore new possibilities for tea.

The venue will also feature three tea rooms designed by Denmark-based RIKURO SAKAUSHI. There will be five tea ceremonies of beauty and learning, including a coffee tea ceremony hosted by 16-year-old coffee roaster Hibiki Iwano.
There will also be a live stage where you can enjoy the music as it flows through your body along with the tea. Three artists will be performing, including Goro, who works across so many genres that it makes you wonder what music even is. Participating vendors in the "Japanese, Chinese, and Taiwanese tea" category include Kunitomo Farm, Miyazaki Sabo, Chakuraen, Zenkoen, Yame Tea Kumaen, Chiyonoen Tea, Kamairicha Shibamoto, NODOKA, PEACE TEA FACTORY, Masui-san's Tea Grown Without Pesticides, Masuien, Association for Connecting People, Agriculture, and Nature, Miyazaki Josuien, The Tea Company, PNT, FAR EAST GROCERY TOKYO, Saten, CHABAKKA, Tokyo Shincha Kouen, and Taikan.
