HATCH, a subscription service operated by eight, will open its first brick-and-mortar store at the ESTNATION Roppongi Hills store from June 6th to 24th. HATCH launched its service last July. After registering as a member, users select their preferred categories, products, and period of purchase. HATCH is a concierge-style online select shop where users can choose products selected by "selectors" (experts in each field) and receive them on the 8th of each month. The brick-and-mortar store will feature approximately 25 celebrities as selectors, showcasing a variety of lifestyle items, including CDs, books, food, and yoga gear. Ryuichi Sakamoto will also be selling a special set featuring the first volume of his CD-book series, "commmons:schola," titled "J.S. Bach," and a Bach T-shirt. He will also be selling the "Scola Special," which contains volumes 1 through 10 of the series in a GLOBE TROTTER case. Honda Naoyuki, who has traveled around the world to eat at restaurants, will be selling his own recommended ingredients as well as items in collaboration with VIVA JAPAN, a social commerce site that sells Japanese products.
Other items in the lineup include mail-order items carefully selected by gift concierge and shop producer Keiko Urachi, as well as kitchen items and seasonings selected by chef Harumi Kurihara's eldest son, Shinpei Kurihara. Yoga instructor Noriko Sagara, journalist and critic Toshinao Sasaki, book director Masataka Haba, and creative director Yu Yamada will also be participating as selectors.
