The Urawa Art Museum in Saitama Prefecture will be holding an exhibition of the duo tupera tupera, consisting of Kameyama Tatsuya and Nakagawa Atsuko, entitled "The World of tupera tupera Picture Books for Me, You, and Everyone," from July 7th to August 31st.

tupera tupera is an artist active in a wide range of fields, including picture books and illustrations, as well as crafts, workshops, stage art, animation, miscellaneous goods, and spatial design. Starting out in 2002 with the exhibition and sale of fabric goods, the group has continued to produce a series of innovative and humorous works, including colorful picture books using paper cutting and collage.

In 2013, "Polar Bear's Pants," which also boasts a unique binding, won the Reader's Award at the 18th Japan Picture Book Awards and the Grand Prix at the 2nd Local Bookstore Picture Book Awards, and the following year "Panda Bathhouse" also won the Grand Prix at the 3rd Local Bookstore Picture Book Awards. This year, "The Panda Cabbage Animal Encyclopedia" won the Grand Prize at the 23rd Japan Picture Book Awards.

The numerous ideas discovered from everyday life and other sources combine elements of familiarity, surprise, and play to create a mysterious yet overwhelmingly fun world. This exhibition will be the first large-scale exhibition to feature approximately 300 works from the world of tupera tupera, divided into six chapters: early picture books, picture books with various motifs, how picture books are made, illustrations and art direction, tupera tupera's creations, and crafts and workshops.
