Chanel's new beachwear capsule collection will be available exclusively at Chanel Omotesando in Japan

Jun 12, 2018
CHANEL will release a capsule collection exclusively for beachwear at CHANEL Omotesando starting June 23rd.
Gabrielle Chanel, a lover of the seaside and outdoor life, built her own villa in the French Riviera town of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin in 1928. She named the place "La Pausa" and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. The "dolce vita" of the seaside resort was the perfect setting for the casual-chic outdoor wardrobe that Gabrielle Chanel created, and she herself favored silk blouses inspired by sailor uniforms.
Karl Lagerfeld celebrates this elegant lifestyle and reinterprets it by infusing it with freshness and stylish energy. A new capsule collection of ready-to-wear and accessories has been launched, inspired by beachside and beach resort styles.

The first collection of 2018 features a new sporty line of swimsuits, two-piece suits, dresses, and terry cloth short tunics. The collection also features plenty of resort-like details, such as anchor-motif buttons and the Maison's iconic quilting motif printed on jersey and denim.

The bag lineup includes masculine yet feminine designs, such as woven leather chain backpacks and tote bags. Other items include colorful espadrilles with black toe caps, symbolizing a lifestyle of endless fun in the sun.
