ATELIER MUJI, located inside MUJI Yurakucho, will be holding the "French Tactile Picture Book Reading Room" exhibition from June 29th to September 2nd.

In the town of Talland in the Burgundy region of France, there is a workshop called Les Doigts Qui Rêvent, which means "Dreaming Fingertips" in Japanese, that creates picture books for visually impaired children. Since its establishment as a non-profit organization in 1993, creators, experts, welfare workshops, and volunteers have worked together, pouring their ideas and heart into each book, carefully handcrafting it one by one. This exhibition will feature a selection of incredibly beautiful tactile picture books and large, delightful tactile posters, all handmade in the workshop.
Related events include "Gallery Tours," where visitors can experience the exhibition with curators and management staff, starting at 11:00 AM on July 2nd, 8th, 23rd, and 30th. Also starting at 6:00 PM on August 1st, "Talk: Walking Through an Invisible World" will feature cultural anthropologist and associate professor at the National Museum of Ethnology Kojiro Hirose, who will discuss how touch can open up our senses and intellect. Furthermore, on August 5th, Hirose will also host a "Workshop: Touch! World Travel," where visitors will embark on a magical journey through new worlds through touch. The first workshop will begin at 10:30 AM, and the second at 1:30 PM. For event registration and details, please visit the ATELIER MUJI official website (http://www.muji.com/jp/events/ateliermuji/).
Why not sharpen your hands and senses in this small, tactile reading room and enjoy the wonderful picture books and fun posters in a gentle, leisurely manner?
