Acne Studios Shibuya store is decked out in the face-themed "face" collection

Jun 1, 2018
Acne Studios has announced its second capsule collection featuring the "face" motif. To coincide with the launch, the brand has completely renovated the interior of its project space, which opened in Shibuya, Tokyo in April 2017, and reopened on May 31st.

The "face" icon, born from a simple caricature of a face outlined with a square and eyes circled, has previously appeared in the brand's main collections and, since 2017, has been a standalone capsule collection. This second collection features new colors added to existing items, as well as the launch of new sneakers.

To reflect the "face" concept, which aims to communicate the diversity of modern families through fashion, the project space has been renovated into a cozy, home-like space. The approximately 70-square-meter space is unified in warm colors of pink, beige, white, and burgundy, with custom carpeting by Kasthall and wood accents.

The steel staircase located in the center of the store is painted burgundy, adding an accent to the space. The wooden furniture installed in the store was designed by Max Lamb, a longtime collaborator of the brand.

An outdoor billboard displays the advertising campaign, photographed by photographer Craig McDean. The advertising campaign, titled "Modern Family," continues from the first collection and features lesbian couple Tasha Tilberg and Laura Wilson and their two daughters, Bowie and Gray.
