"Surf 'n Farm Market," a market event bringing together surfers and farmers, will be held at Garden House Crafts in Daikanyama on June 2nd and 3rd.

"Surf 'n Farm Market" is a project that considers the nature of food based on agriculture and surfing, with the aim of conveying the "delicious bounty of the fields" to the various people who gather there, including farmers, makers, chefs, and shops. The event is co-hosted by Futaba Fruits, a fruit shop in Nakano Ward that has been in business for 77 years and has been in business for three generations; KOCHI GOOD FOODS, which promotes the seasonal ingredients and charm of Kochi; and Garden House Crafts, a bakery and cafe that specializes in handmade products using Japan's rich seasonal ingredients. This first-ever event will feature not only the three organizers, but also Kariya Farm, which is dedicated to organic ginger cultivation; Scarpekutsu, which makes rice koji amazake (sweet sake) made with raw rice koji; Prana Chai Japan, a Melbourne-based company that makes sugar- and chemical-free chai; Libre Yokohama, a unique dry cleaner that cleans costumes worn by artists both in Japan and abroad; and CRAFTS TOKYO, which introduces a collection of unique products from the West Coast and Mexico.
In addition to selling delicious seasonal vegetables and fruits from Kochi and all over Japan, producers who share the same passion will be gathering to sell everything from organic chai to amazake (sweet sake) and laundry detergent.
A limited-edition menu using the fresh vegetables and fruits of the day will also be available. For details on the exhibitors, check the Garden House Crafts Facebook event page (https://www.facebook.com/events/374296839747386/).
