A festival where you can taste delicious breads from all over Japan!

"ISEPAN!" @ Isetan Shinjuku Store (May 23-28)

The popular annual bread festival "ISEPAN!" at Isetan Shinjuku Store is back this year, bigger than ever!  Breads that represent Japan at world competitions, popular regional breads, and exclusive collaboration breads will all be gathered together. Highlights include the "365 Days" bread, which lets you compare different wheat flavors; Boulangerie Parisgot's brioche, limited to 100 pieces per day; and Patrie Fukumori's soft bread, also limited to 100 pieces per day. The expanded eat-in space also allows you to enjoy coffee and beer, which complement the bread perfectly.

"Bread Village" @ Odakyu Department Store Shinjuku Branch (May 23-29)

The first-ever "Bread Village" at Odakyu Department Store Shinjuku Branch brings together popular bread shops from all over Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa. Among the items that caught the editors' attention were the "Melty Cheese Bread" made with five types of Tokachi cheese from Masuya Shoten in Hokkaido, and the "Okinawa Taco Bagel Sandwich" from additive-free bagel specialist Coco Bagel... Also worth checking out are the bread accompaniments, such as the wide variety of marmalades that Setouchi Jams Garden is proud of, and the butters from around the world from Tokyo's Bread & Butter Factory. The lineup of vendors changes depending on the period, so you'll likely find yourself returning again and again.

Shonan T-SITE Bread Festival @ Shonan T-SITE (May 26-27)

The Shonan T-SITE Bread Festival, now in its third year, will bring together a huge number of "excellent bakeries" from the Shonan area, known as a treasure trove of bakeries. Popular local shops like Madame Rouge and Pappa Grassen, who will be setting up shop for the first time, and Pan Yubo Kamekichi, which was ranked number one in the nation in the bread category on a hometown tax donation website, are sure to be a highlight. Takeout is also available for lemon-flavored French toast from "Pan to Espresso to," a Tokyo favorite with long lines every day. It's sold out once it's gone, so hurry!

Wine, too!

"ONE LOVE, WINE LOVE -Let's get together and feel all right-" @ United Nations University (May 26-27)

This two-day event allows you to experience, taste, and compare a variety of wines, without worrying about price, grape varieties, or other complicated matters. Taste international, organic, and domestic wines with wineries, importers, and sommeliers. Famous restaurants will also be offering food to pair with your wine. Enjoy food stall-style dishes like yakitori from Iidabashi's "Yakitori x Washu Yu," okonomiyaki from Omotesando's "Akai Heya," tacos from Shimokitazawa's "namida" and Bakurocho's "Kitade Shokudo," and fried chicken from Shibuya's "rojiura" and Shimokitazawa's "salmon & trout"!
