Cornelius Oyamada Keigo's new song is turned into a film by an up-and-coming artist, and the "Sound Architecture" exhibition will be held at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT

Event Date:2018.06.29-10.14
May 2, 2018
21_21 DESIGN SIGHT in Roppongi, Tokyo, will host the "AUDIO ARCHITECTURE: Architecture of Sound" exhibition from June 29th to October 14th, with Nakamura Yugo as exhibition director.

The music we are familiar with every day can be described as a meticulously designed structure (architecture) incorporating various elements such as timbre, range, volume, and rhythm. However, in our daily lives, we rarely have the opportunity to pay particular attention to its origins and structure. This exhibition attempts to construct a space based on a single piece of music. Experience a space where all the elements within the space relate to that piece of music, each exhibiting their own unique characteristics while all interconnecting and harmonizing around the music.

Venue Design Process (Venue Layout: Wonderwall)
The exhibition is directed by Yugo Nakamura, who is highly acclaimed for his unique style in the fields of web, interface, and video. Musician Keigo Oyamada (Cornelius) has written a new song called "AUDIO ARCHITECTURE" with a focus on musical structure, and a group of cutting-edge artists have interpreted it from their own perspectives to create video works. The nine participating artists, working across fields such as video, animation, dance, graphics, advertising, illustration, programming, and media design, bring a diverse sensibility to their work and approach new forms of expression. Participants include Inagaki Tetsuro, Umeda Hiroaki, Onishi Keita, Orikasa Ryo, Tsujikawa Koichiro x Bascule x Kitasenju Design, Teshigawara Kazumasa, Mizushiri Yoriko, UCNV, and Euphrates.

Katayama Masamichi of Wonderwall will also be in charge of the venue design. By repeatedly playing one song and multiple video works in a dynamic space, they will attempt to create a "musical architectural space." Why not discover a fresh perspective on music in a venue where music, video, and space come together?
