"COFFEE COLLECTION around KANDA NISHIKICHO 2018 SPRING," an event bringing together the world's finest coffees from Japan and abroad, will be held for two days from April 28th, with the main venue being Terrace Square, a complex building in Kanda Nishikicho, Tokyo.

Through the "DISCOVER" project, which selects exhibitors from well-known single-origin coffee shops (coffee shops with clearly defined coffee bean-producing countries, growing regions, and production methods) from both Japan and abroad, 10 specialty coffee shops that you'll want to try right now will be opening in Kanda Nishikicho. By brewing coffee under the same conditions—using the same brewing equipment and hand-dripping a single, carefully selected type of coffee—visitors can experience the unique characteristics of the beans and roasting methods selected by each store, as well as the individuality of each barista.

In addition, in line with the concept of this event, the sixth installment of the Coffee Collection, "JAPANESE COFFEE CULTURE with ALL," nine events will be held in collaboration with coffee media "CafeSnap" to allow visitors to experience Japanese coffee culture and the world that coffee has opened up.

Five specialty coffee shops will be located at the entrance to Terrace Square. On April 28, five shops will be opening: FINETIME COFFEE ROASTERS, Corsica Coffee KITAHAMA Roasting Works, PASSAGE COFFEE, Q.O.L. COFFEE, and SINGLE O Japan.

Five coffee shops will be opening on the 29th: OBROS COFFEE1095, the winner of the DISCOVER competition, as well as South Korea's Strut Coffee, FAITH COFFEE COMPANY, WOODBERRY COFFEE ROASTERS, and GLITCH COFFEE & ROASTERS.

A shop promoting coffee will also be opening at the entrance to Terrace Square. Komiyama Bookstore, a Jimbocho bookstore founded in 1939, will be setting up shop, focusing on fashion, photography, and art. Other exhibitors include the publisher Two Virgins, the mobile bookstore BOOK TRUCK, the quarterly magazine Standart, HARIO, which makes made-in-Japan drippers, MINIMAL - BEAN TO BAR CHOCOLATE, a specialty shop for bean-to-bar chocolate, and Kaminariya, a letterpress printing company. Additionally, GALLAGE RECORDS, a music label born out of COFFEE BAR GALLAGE in Higashi-Nakano, which offers a wide range of jazz music and discovers and promotes a variety of music rooted in coffee bean-producing regions, will be hosting a music event titled "GALLAGE RECORDS presents 'Beats and Beans Traveler'," featuring DJ Noyaki Tomohisa and Big Chicken Project. Enjoy music with your favorite coffee in hand. The event, jointly planned with CafeSnap, will be held at another venue, Nishikicho Trad Square. From the Kanda area, famous for its pure coffee shops, LADIO, which was founded in 1949 and is a pioneer of the pure coffee shop boom and the birthplace of Viennese coffee, will feature Shinozaki, the current manager, and cafe writer Kawaguchi Yoko, who will discuss "The history of Jinbocho LADIO and the untold story of the birth of Viennese coffee" for one hour from 11am on April 28th.

Other events include "Minimal Chocolate 5-Type Tasting & GLITCH Coffee Pairing" from 12:30 on the 28th, "Summer Holiday Trip! Travel Coffee Guide - Northern Europe Edition" from 14:30, and "Unraveling the Structure of the HARIO V60" from 16:00. On the 29th, there will be "Success Stories and Points to Note for Those Planning to Start a Coffee and Crowdfunding Business" from 10:00, "Summer Holiday Trip! Travel Coffee Guide - Australia Edition" from 11:30, "Summer Holiday Trip! Travel Coffee Guide - Taiwan Edition" from 13:00, "Make a THANK YOU Card with COFFEE PAPER PRESS" from 14:30, and "STANDART JAPAN Muromoto x CafeSnap Oi: Behind the Scenes of the Media" from 16:00. There will also be talk sessions and workshops on a variety of themes.

On the same day, the Kanda area will host "JAZZ AUDITORIA 2018," a music event where you can experience global culture through jazz, on the special outdoor stage at Waterras Square. The two days will be filled with the city's unique culture. Kanda is a city deeply rooted in Japan's coffee culture, so why not enjoy a stroll around town with a cup of coffee in hand?
