BURBERRY presented its 2018 February collection on February 17th at the Dymco Building in West London. This season was the final show by Christopher Bailey, who had led Burberry for 17 years.
The show opened with Adwoa Aboah on the catwalk and closed with Cara Delevingne. Many other models who have appeared in Burberry's campaigns to date also made an appearance. Guests included Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Iris Law, and dancer Koharu Sugawara, and more than 1,300 people traveled from around the world to attend the event.
The collection's theme was "Time," a time to reflect on the past, find joy in the present, and look forward to the future. Burberry's iconic logos, patterns, materials, and techniques were reinterpreted, and pieces from its archives from the '80s and '90s were revamped. Rainbow colors were also incorporated into various pieces in the collection, representing support for the LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, genderqueer)+ community. The "Vintage Rainbow Check," which combines Burberry's iconic check pattern with a rainbow, also made its debut. The finale was a sound and light show called "Our Time" by the British art collective United Visual Artists, which expressed the passage of time, with everyone walking through a rainbow spectrum of laser lights.
