On February 18th, the third day of London Fashion Week, Margaret Howell presented her Fall/Winter 2018-19 collection. This season's show once again combined men's and women's.
This season's collection fused a number of elements. There were workwear-inspired pieces, such as high-waisted cropped wide-leg pants and coveralls, as well as anoraks typically used as raincoats, and mod coats and berets with strong military influences. These pieces were crafted from soft, polyester-like materials and featured rounded raglan silhouettes, creating a light and gentle impression. Furthermore, this season's collection featured a variety of nuanced colors, and tone-on-tone styling ensured that each piece didn't stand out too much, allowing for a play on contrasting textures. Tone-on-tone styling was a common theme adopted by many brands at this season's London Collection.

Oversized jackets were worn, shirt cuffs unbuttoned, and oversized tote bags slung over the shoulders. These subtle variations on style were realistic and matched the mood of the times. Precisely because of the dressed-down nature of the collection, the signature shirts served to tie the whole collection together, resulting in a modern British style that is characteristic of Margaret Howell. Paisley, a pattern that, like checks, originated in the UK, continued at the end of the show, bringing the show to a spectacular close.
