L'Occitane reaches 1 billion euros in net sales, with significant growth in Russia and China

L'OCCITANE INTERNATIONAL, which operates the cosmetics brand L'OCCITANE, achieved net sales of 1,043.4 million euros for the fiscal year ending March 2013, an increase of 14.2% compared to the previous year. Operating profit increased 3.9% to 158 million euros.

North America, Russia, Hong Kong, and China contributed significantly to this. Russia and China saw particularly strong increases of 30.4% and 24.2%, respectively, compared to the previous year. Net sales in Japan accounted for 21% of total sales, at 219.45 million euros, an increase of 0.6% compared to the previous year.

145 new stores were opened worldwide during the year. 50 stores in Asia, including 10 in Japan, 67 stores in Europe, and 28 stores in North America were opened in line with the company's expansion strategy. The L'Occitane Group is currently promoting a store renovation plan, renovating or relocating 74 stores in the year up to March this year. The L'Occitane Aoyama store will undergo a major renovation and reopen as a new flagship store on the 28th.
