Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse has arrived in Japan! The world's first workshop and chocolate specialty store with an eat-in area

Apr 25, 2018

Alain Ducasse's chocolate specialty store, Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse, opened its first store in Tokyo on March 26th. Following that, Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse's flagship store and second store in Japan, Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse Roppongi, will open on April 27th in Keyakizaka, Roppongi.

Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse, a workshop that Alain Ducasse dreamed of for over 30 years, opened in Bastille, Paris in 2013 after meeting chef chocolatier Nicolas Bergé. Here, bonbons are carefully crafted one by one from cocoa beans using time-honored methods, using vintage machines once used by artisans. This one-of-a-kind place has now opened its first location outside of Paris, in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. In addition to its workshop and boutique (retail), Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse in Nihonbashi also boasts the world's first salon with an eat-in area. Guests can enjoy baked goods and desserts made by Chef Chocolatier Julien Kinzler, who is highly trusted by Alain Ducasse and previously served as chef pastry chef at Beige Alain Ducasse Tokyo in Ginza, Tokyo. The boutique offers a lineup of baked goods made with couverture chocolate exclusively available in Japan, including Chamonix Orange Chocolate, Raspberry Macaron, Financier aux Gruées, and Fondant Chocolat Café. The eat-in area of Le Salon also offers Japan-exclusive desserts such as Mousse au Chocolat, Millefeuille tou Chocolat, Croquant Bar, Soufflé au Chocolat, and Coupe Glacé au Café.
