Founder Dimitri Weber is European, born in France and raised in Belgium. Dimitri has worked in the perfume industry for 15 years as a marketer and PR representative for the perfume divisions of major corporations. While visiting Australia on a business trip, he fell in love at first sight and decided to give up everything to live there. This led him to found his own perfume house in 2016.

Australia is blessed with a great climate and fertile soil, and its native perfume ingredients are highly prized worldwide. Yet, it remains a barren land for perfume brands, with no perfume houses in existence. He realized that while there were high-quality ingredients, there was a lack of technology and know-how to utilize them.
During a trip to various perfume-producing regions in Australia, Dimitri found himself particularly drawn to Australian sandalwood. He decided to create a hybrid perfume house that would make the most of it while also utilizing traditional French perfume-making know-how.
Based on the legend that "sandalwood grows where gold is found," a unique worldwide perfume brand from Australia called "Goldfield & Banks" was born, named after the word "goldfield," which also means fertile land, and Joseph Banks, a crew member of the Endeavour that discovered the new continent of Australia and a renowned botanist.
