Jan 25, 2018
Five new restaurants are opening in Roppongi Hills, including new take on famous restaurants and popular establishments that are so popular it's impossible to get a reservation. These innovative, original, and high-quality restaurants will breathe new life into Roppongi Keyakizaka Street.

Ukai, which has a philosophy of "creating a restaurant that will last for 100 years" and has offered spaces, cuisine, and hospitality with a story behind them, will simultaneously open two new restaurants on Roppongi Keyakizaka Street on March 29th: "Roppongi Ukai-tei," a teppanyaki restaurant, and "Roppongi Kappou Ukai," a kappo restaurant.

The two stores are adjacent to each other and connected inside once you pass through their respective entrances. The shared dessert and bar lounge overlooks Roppongi Keyakizaka Street, allowing you to relax and enjoy a welcome drink or after-dinner drink while gazing at the rows of zelkova trees that change with the seasons.

Roppongi Ukai-tei
Roppongi Ukai-tei does not have the circular counter found in existing stores, but instead features six semi-private rooms, large and small, with teppanyaki chef's tables for a more intimate feel. Guests will be treated to hospitality by the head chef, who is an expert on ingredients and cuisine, and the maestro, a specialist in Ukai-tei's teppanyaki cuisine.

The course menu features "Ukai Premium Beef," specially prepared for the restaurant by the manager of Tamura Farm in Tottori, a contracted ranch, and carefully selected seasonal ingredients. From the explanation of the ingredients to the preparation, Roppongi Ukai-tei's high-quality hospitality will invite you into a world of ultimate gourmet cuisine.

Roppongi Kappou Ukai
Roppongi Kappou Ukai is an Ukai kappou restaurant that offers the ultimate dining experience. In a modern space that blends traditional Japanese cuisine with a contemporary aesthetic, diners can watch the chefs prepare their dishes over the spacious counter, creating a theatrical experience. Enjoy original delicacies made with carefully selected ingredients from not only Japan but also around the world, in a space brimming with stylish techniques.

Saryo Miyasaka
Saryo Miyasaka, a branch of the two-star Michelin restaurant Onryori Miyasaka, also opened on December 22nd. Enjoy the restaurant's signature clay pot rice, which is difficult to reserve at the main restaurant. Enjoy a variety of exquisite dishes that incorporate traditional techniques with a modern flair.

After a rehab period, the Chinese restaurant Wasa, which is difficult to reserve, has relocated to Roppongi Hills as the new restaurant, Keyakizaka Wasa, and Gyoen Wasa. Keyakizaka Wasa, which will open on January 25th, is a new type of Chinese cuisine in the omakase style, where the owner himself travels all over Japan, tasting and searching for special ingredients, and upholding the philosophy of "umami requires effort, flavor requires minimal effort," always striving for the best cooking methods and ingredients.

In addition, at its sister restaurant Gyoen Wasa, located just through the door to the right of the entrance to Keyakizaka Wasa, the owner began making the ultimate gyoza several years ago, and after endless trial and error, finally completed his ultimate handmade gyoza this year, which he serves along with a variety of special dishes.
