Since his debut in 1984, Yoshitomo Nara has maintained a unique presence in the art scene. Rather than relying on his affinity for Japanese manga or "kawaii" culture, he has cultivated a deep understanding of music, both Eastern and Western, and its grammar, which has earned him widespread sympathy. He enjoys widespread support from hardcore art fans to those less familiar with art, and is particularly popular in Asia. His influence is evident in the heated auctions he holds. In recent years, disgusted by the overheated market reaction, Nara has avoided public appearances and retreated into his own world. However, in November 2017, he opened "N's YARD" in Nasu-Shiobara, a resort town in central Japan, to exhibit his own works and treasured collections, including records. He has begun exploring new forms of communication through his own unique style. This exhibition features drawings by Nara Yoshitomo spanning the past 30 years, from his student days to the present, revealing the core of his work as an artist. Kaikai Kiki founder Takashi Murakami commented, "The theme of this presentation at the Kaikai Kiki Gallery is how we can embody Nara Yoshitomo's complex thoughts in the marketplace. Specifically, we want to bypass his aversion to dealers who rely on resale and once again restore natural interaction with true fans. We also want to allow Nara to fully unleash his creative wings."

In addition, an opening reception will be held at the same venue on the first day of the exhibition, February 9th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
