Dolce & Gabbana's Feast of Angels with Crowns, Roses, and Cupids [Men's Fall/Winter 2018-19]

Jan 16, 2018

Dolce & Gabbana's Fall/Winter 2018-19 men's collection was held in Milan on January 13th. Millennials from around the world, who have graced the brand's men's collections for the past two seasons, once again gathered in Milan for a gorgeous runway party.

The show featured Austin Mahon, Cameron Dallas, and Rafferty Law, who served as opening acts for last January's collection, as well as five millennials from Japan, including stylist Bunta Shimizu and model Tomo Abe. A total of over 100 looks were presented, and more than 100 models lined up on stage for the finale.

Based on the theme of "King's Angels," this collection features a parade of baroque elements, including vibrant velvet, pinstripes, brocade, patches, embroidery, and floral prints. It's truly a feast of angels gathered to celebrate the king.

A yellow silk jersey tracksuit is paired with sequined velvet slip-ons. A pinstriped sartorial long coat is decorated with graffiti of crowns, angels, and comic book letters embroidered with patches. A pink velvet Gobelin chester coat is paired with pinstriped pants, a Cupid sweater is embroidered with roses and crowns in gold thread, a simple turtleneck is paired with silver lamé pants, and bright red brocade pants are paired with sneakers, creating a collection full of energy and a mix of styles.

The key theme is "multiculturalism," transcending cultural boundaries to highlight each character's individuality. Motifs such as kings, angels, and paradise are featured on a variety of items, creating a wildly coordinated and overwhelming collection that feels like a 360-degree view of an Italian palace with frescoes on every wall.

The finale featured a live performance by Colombian singer Maluma, who boasts over 30.6 million followers on Instagram. It looks like the party is never going to end.
