A Symphony of Color

Five new rings are introduced, continuing the cheerful style of the Perlée collection. Sparkling with gold beads, the rings are adorned with ornamental stones in a vibrant color palette, creating a dazzling presence. Their rounded shapes are a reinterpretation of the Philippine ring, a design created by the Maison in 1968. The Philippine ring, a bold and colorful combination of ornamental stones and diamonds, exemplifies the jewelry style of the era. This latest addition breathes fresh creativity into the collection, bringing a sunny, bright, and pop feel.

Each stone, set in a three-dimensional configuration at the ring's center, was meticulously selected for its vibrant color and size. From the crisp, lustrous black of onyx and the deep green with delicate veins of malachite to the delicate, shimmering blue of lapis lazuli (limited in quantity due to its rarity), the azure blue of turquoise, and the orange-red of coral, each hue harmonizes with the yellow gold to create a radiant ring. The center stone is flanked by two delicate gold beads, each flanked by a row of round diamonds. The mirror polishing technique further enhances the gold's brilliance, creating a play of interplay and contrasting light.

A Variation of Noble Colors

Since its launch in 2008, Perlée For the first time, the collection introduces three rings crafted with colored precious stones. Inspired by the Caroline ring and bracelet created by Van Cleef & Arpels in the late 1970s, the new pieces engage in a dialogue between the brilliance of the iconic beads and the colorful nuances of rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. Each gemstone has been carefully selected by the Maison's expert gemologists. Carmine rubies complement the soft nuances of rose gold, while vibrant blue sapphires and sparkling green emeralds complement the warm glow of yellow gold. Reflecting the playful spirit of the Perlée collection, these new pieces are striking for their asymmetrical design and interplay of light and form. Each ring features precious stones set in a diagonal band, creating an eye-catching accent. Five strands of gold beads, widest at the top and tapering downwards, gently encircle the finger. The gemstones are secured in place by polished gold prongs positioned between each stone. Used for the first time in this collection, this technique requires the setter's exceptional skill, especially when working with a material as delicate as an emerald. To further enhance the ring's brilliance, the base features honeycomb openwork and the entire ring is meticulously polished.

A play of light interwoven with gold and diamonds

The same aesthetic is reflected in the Perlée Diamond Ring. The dazzling brilliance of the round diamonds complements the radiant tones of yellow gold, the transparency of white gold, and the warm hues of rose gold. The graphic style of the ring sparkles with the movement of the hand. As with all Van Cleef & Arpels creations, the diamonds are carefully selected to meet the most stringent quality standards (D, E, F color, IF to VVS clarity).

The Maison is also introducing three earrings in yellow, white, and rose gold to match the Perlée Diamond Pavé Ring, launched in 2020. Like the ring, the new earrings feature a dome paved with 74 diamonds of various sizes, framed by generous gadroons. Individually applied and polished, the gadroons create a harmonious look, while the honeycomb openwork allows light to penetrate the gemstones. The sparkle of diamonds and the lustre of gold play together in these three-dimensional creations, creating a feast for the eyes.

A Dance of Time

Van Cleef & Arpels has now introduced the iconic aesthetic of the Perlée collection to its new watches. Five timeless pieces combine gentle curves and delicate details, watchmaking savoir-faire and jewellery inspiration. Their fluid lines and playfulness lend a contemporary touch to jewellery that tells the time.

This elegant and feminine watch features a round shape framed by two rows of gold beads and mirror-polished yellow gold edges, giving it a very modern look. The domed dial features mother-of-pearl, onyx, and yellow gold, respectively. The radial guilloching on the dial catches the light and creates dazzling reflections. The push-pieces for setting the time are located on the back of the case, making them completely invisible when the watch is worn.

A time to hide secrets

Gold beads once again perform their joyous dance to adorn this secret jewelry watch. In this model, delicate spheres and vibrantly colored ornamental stones create a playful combination.

Inspired by toi et moi (you and me) jewelry, this wristwatch features two motifs of different sizes facing each other on an open bracelet made entirely of gold beads. The larger motif gently rotates 360 degrees to reveal a white mother-of-pearl dial framed with round diamonds. In keeping with the spirit of the Perlée collection, each of the three timepieces combines different materials.

In one model, the warm red of carnelian creates a captivating contrast with black pietersite, while in the second, the vibrant blue of turquoise enhances the brilliance of diamonds and yellow gold. And in the third, limited edition model, the vibrant tones of turquoise and coral create a radiant harmony. The gold beads that surround each cabochon accentuate its rounded silhouette and add a touch of sparkle to these colorful creations.

Gold beading savoir-faire is at the heart of jewelry creations

True to the Maison's tradition, Perrelet's new jewelry pieces highlight the gold beading technique, which requires collaboration between various artisans. The beads, of various sizes, are fashioned from the precious metals yellow, rose, and white gold using the lost-wax casting technique. Each bead is then carefully crafted by hand by jewelers. This precise and meticulous work gives the entire piece a unified, rounded appearance and harmony. Furthermore, several stages of polishing are required to smooth the surface of the beads and enhance their brilliance.

At the intersection of watchmaking and jewellery

The Maison's expertise is also evident in its watchmaking, combining French and Swiss savoir-faire. The Secret Watch's gold bracelet is crafted in its French workshops, while the dial and movement are assembled in Van Cleef & Arpels' watchmaking workshops in Geneva. This collaboration between artisans restores magic to the art of telling time, resulting in watches steeped in poetry.

For the first time, gold bead links have been combined to create an extremely supple bracelet, fitting like a second skin to the wrist for ultimate comfort.

Selecting Unparalleled Materials

The selection of materials is a crucial step in Van Cleef & Arpels' tradition of excellence. From precious and ornamental stones to mother-of-pearl and coral, the Maison selects the most beautiful materials, adhering to the most stringent quality standards.

All diamonds used by Van Cleef & Arpels meet the highest gemological standards, with D, E, or F color and IF to VVS clarity. In Perrelet's creations, the light-transmitting openwork structure allows the diamonds to shine even more brightly. The rubies, emeralds, and sapphires set in the Maison's jewelry are carefully selected as untreated natural stones, boasting high transparency, balanced cuts, and dazzling colors.

Van Cleef & Arpels' commitment to precious materials is particularly evident when selecting ornamental stones. Among them, warm red carnelian exhibits a subtle translucent texture, while extremely rare turquoise and lapis lazuli are characterized by their intense, vibrant color and harmonious texture. Hand-polished onyx reveals a deep-black surface with the lustrous luster unique to this material. New to the Perlée collection is the black pietersite, a uniquely poetic mineral that combines multiple minerals to create a picturesque beauty.

The coral and mother-of-pearl are also meticulously identified and tested by expert gemologists. The coral used is sustainably sourced and polished to achieve a uniform, cheerful orange hue. Meanwhile, the iridescent brilliance of the white mother-of-pearl is enhanced by the guilloching technique.

Once upon a time, there were gold beads…

Launched in 2008, the Perlée collection features gold beads, a reference to the Maison's history. These noble spheres have shone brightly in Van Cleef & Arpels creations since the 1920s. Initially used as design accents or to frame gemstones, the gold beads eventually became a motif in their own right. Since 1948, the beads have grown in size, spreading to the Couscous and then Bagatelle collections. Beads of various sizes and sizes were adorned in necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, and watches, sometimes combined with precious stones. From 1954 onwards, the La Boutique collection introduced more intimate and playful pieces, including charming animal-themed clips.

In the 1960s, jewelry emphasized fluid, supple forms, particularly with gold beads. The Twist collection playfully combined beads with coral, turquoise, and cultured pearls, twisting them together. Since 1968, beads have also been featured in the Alhambra collection, where delicate gold adorns the outline of Van Cleef & Arpels' iconic symbol of good fortune.

Today, the Maison constantly enriches the Perlée collection with new jewellery lines: Perlée Gold Pearls, Perlée Couleurs, Perlée Diamonds, Perlée Clover, and Perlée Senior Tulle, as well as prestigious timepieces imbued with dazzling elegance.
