Onitsuka Tiger, a fashion brand from Japan, offers a contemporary collection that blends fashion and sports, heritage and innovation. Based on the concepts of "Active", "Colorful", and "Effortless", Onitsuka Tiger is launching a MADE IN JAPAN capsule collection that uses environmentally friendly materials and focuses on comfort and beautiful silhouettes. This MADE IN JAPAN capsule collection is made entirely in Japan, pursuing comfort and designs that will last longer and be loved. The material is made from two materials: Tencel® Modal, known for its softness and smooth texture compared to regular cotton, and Tencel® Lyocell, known for its ability to inhibit bacterial growth and boasting a durable yet gentle feel and excellent moisture-retaining and absorbent properties. (*Tested with Corynebacterium and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.) The pulp used is made from sustainably grown wood that meets FSC and PEFC certifications. The fibers are dissolved in a solvent and then recycled using Lenzing's proprietary recycling system. The dyeing process is carried out by Nippon Kasen Co., Ltd. in Miya City, Aichi Prefecture, which is committed to environmentally friendly practices that reduce energy and water usage compared to conventional dyeing. Tencel® Lyocell is knitted on a Mamiya knitting machine, one of a few in Japan, which can only knit approximately 150 meters per day, making it a time-consuming and labor-intensive process to produce a single garment.
This time, we are introducing the "TENCEL™ Modal fibers SERIES “" which uses Tencel™ Modal fiber and comes in 12 colors, and includes everything from simple tops to long dresses that can be worn casually or dressily, and the "TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers SERIES “" which uses Tencel™ Lyocell fiber and comes in 6 colors, allowing you to create top and bottom sets in muted colors. *TENCEL™ and Tencel™ are trademarks of Lenzing AG.
These products will be available in stores and on e-commerce sites from Friday, August 5, 2022, excluding some areas of Japan.
