Popular Parisian patisserie boulangerie "Liberte" opens its first global store in Kichijoji

Dec 22, 2017
The first global store of LIBERTÉ LA PÂTISSERIE BOULANGERIE, a popular bakery and cake shop from Paris, France, opened in Kichijoji, Tokyo in March 2018.

Opened in 2013 in the 10th arrondissement of Paris by Michael Benichou, LIBERT quickly established popularity based on the concepts of "transparency," "approachability," and "quality." The interior of the Paris flagship store, which has been converted into a shop using the same workshop as the store, emphasizes transparency by selling only items made by artisans on-site and openly showing everything from the ingredients used to the manufacturing process.

As the store name "Pâtisserie Boulangerie" suggests, the store advocates "bread and cakes made with the precision and delicacy of confectionery making."

Liberte, which will open in Kichijoji, Tokyo, shares these attitudes and beliefs and aims to "create a community where people can share in each other's emotions and happiness." While inheriting the concepts of "transparency," "closeness," and "quality," expectations are high for the new community that will be born around Liberte.
