Parisian maison brand Rochas opened its first boutique in Japan at Nagoya Sakae Mitsukoshi on January 16, 2018.

Current creative director Alessandro dell'Acqua's Spring/Summer 2018 collection, billed as "a scene from an Orientalist's room late at night," is a modern Rochas-style revival of Orientalism, a style favored by upper-class ladies.


This collection returns to the Maison's couture roots. Draped with ruffles, the lightest silk that wraps around the skin, and lustrous jacquard fabric reminiscent of obi belts are incorporated into delicate sets and floor-length dresses, resulting in a bold yet enchantingly feminine and refined look.

Accessories are also key elements that express individuality in the Rochas collection. Items like the iconic R logo adorned with crystals and vintage-inspired leather pouches encapsulate the brand's unique aesthetic.

A limited-time pop-up shop will also be open at the Nagoya Sakae Mitsukoshi store from December 13th to January 15th, 2018. The light and romantic 2018 Resort Collection will be available ahead of the boutique opening.
