Ristorante Amalfi, originally from Shichirigahama, Kamakura, has opened a new cafe-style restaurant, "Italian Dining Amalfi Cafe," at MARK IS Minato Mirai. This new location offers a wide selection of tapas that pair perfectly with alcohol, creating a more casual atmosphere than the original. The restaurant specializes in short pasta and has eliminated long pasta from the menu. "While penne is the only popular pasta in Japan, there are many more shapes of short pasta, and the flavor changes depending on the combination with the sauce. We deliberately removed long pasta from the menu in order to spread this appeal throughout Japan. Open from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, we hope to create a restaurant that encourages a casual lifestyle, where customers can stop by for a drink after work instead of at an izakaya," says manager Yusuke Yamashita. Ristorante Amalfi, named for the cliffs of Shichirigahama, resembling Amalfi in southern Italy, was founded in 1971. The restaurant is known as a famous shop that has gained recognition in the local area for its seafood delivered every morning from the cape. The chain currently has nine stores in Tokyo and Kanagawa, each with its own theme, including restaurants, pizza, and sweets. This will be the first cafe to also sell alcoholic beverages.
