Givenchy has unveiled its first pre-collection since Clare Waight Keller took over as artistic director. Shot at a private residence in Kent, England, the Fall/Winter 2018 pre-collection, like Clare Waight Keller's Spring/Summer 2018 debut runway show, features a shared aesthetic for both men's and women's. Key pieces, including sharp outerwear and pointed boots, are based on a unisex mix-and-match style, blurring the boundaries between men and women in the wardrobe. The vibrant color blocks of red, blue, amber, and black are eye-catching. Used on clothing and the new GV bucket bag, they define the season's direction. Classic wool coats feature military details, while statement coats are bold and luxurious in monochrome herringbone. Leopard print, featured on mid-length dresses and suits, is revived in "red," offering a glimpse of the house's signature edgy essence. Evening wear showcases elaborate details such as metallic embroidery, velvet layered over lace, and pleated tulle, emphasizing sexy elegance. Additionally, a fresh redesign of the traditional "4G emblem" and a band tour-style "GIVENCHY PARIS" T-shirt are also highlights of the season. Jewelry features oversized earrings, with an artisanal series themed around constellations. While the first pre-collection has an urban feel throughout, it also has a strong couture sensibility, embodying the attitude of the new Givenchy.
