"100K," an exhibition showcasing portraits of photographer Keiichi Nitta himself, has been running since June 12th at the Global Closet gallery on the second floor of the Isetan Shinjuku store. It runs until the 25th.
100K is a project in which Nitta himself disguises himself as famous people from around the world, aiming to complete a 100-face project. It began six years ago. To date, he has disguised himself as around 30 famous people, including Michael Jackson, Prince, and Marilyn Monroe. This time, photos of Nitta disguised as Justin Bieber, President Obama, Beyoncé, James Brown, Freddie Mercury, Prince, Madonna, Che Guevara, and Grace Jones are on display. Hair and makeup by Noboru Tomizawa, and stylists Masahiro Ogura and Takuto Satoyama.
On the 22nd, Nitta Keiichi will hold a photo shoot event, and on the 23rd, photographer Kasai Chikashi will hold one for those who make a purchase at the store.
Nitta was born in 1975. After graduating from Bunka Fashion College, he went to the United States and studied under photographer Terry Richardson for six years before returning to Japan. "100K" started when he disguised himself as Michael Jackson while working with Terry.
