A pop-up store by used magazine bookstore Magnif will be open from December 7th to 25th in the window of H.P.DECO Marunouchi, an interior design shop in Marunouchi, Tokyo.


The pop-up store will display and sell magazines of various genres selected by Magnif, a store located in Kanda/Jinbocho, a city known for its secondhand books.

Unlike novels or paperbacks, magazines are packed with the era's essence, including advertisements. Opening up old magazines is not just nostalgic; they are often fresh and stimulating. Magnif has selected particularly appealing fashion magazines, and will also display related books and photo books.


Soon after moving to Tokyo from Miyazaki Prefecture, owner Nakatake Yasunori embarked on the path of antiquarian booksellers in Jimbocho, the world-famous second-hand bookstore district. He continued working there for over 10 years, and discovered the fun and importance of looking back at old fashion magazines. He then opened Magnif in 2009. Its selection of vintage magazines quickly attracted attention, and the store became a favorite haunt of clothing manufacturers, designers, fashion magazine editors, and many fashionistas and hobbyists. Recently, the store has expanded its scope of activities, including collaborating with apparel shops and department stores on events.
