Japan's largest bread festival, "Bread Festival 2018 Spring in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse," will be held for three days from March 2nd to 4th, 2018, at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Event Square.

The "Bread Festival" was first held in March 2016 as an event where bread lovers can enjoy bread to the fullest. It has been held successfully for many years, and the third event in September 2017 was a huge success, with over 80 stores participating, the highest number ever.

This year, the fourth time the event is being held, bakeries from all over the country will gather, from popular local shops in Kanagawa to famous shops in far-flung places that are rarely visited. A total of 16 stores will be opening for the first time, including the Kanaya Hotel Bakery, which has been in business for over 140 years; Happo-en Blue Tree, a bakery in Happo-en, renowned as one of Tokyo's leading wedding venues; Café & Bakery Gruppe from Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture; and Ande, a Kyoto-born Danish bread specialty store that uses no preservatives and has a long shelf life. Additionally, there will be a limited-time collaboration shop between Uchiki Pan, a long-established bakery in Motomachi, Yokohama, and travel writer Manu Yamashita, who has traveled abroad more than 350 times. The "Spice Mayo Bread," made with craft mayonnaise and available only at this limited-time shop, is a must-try.
