Edwin's iconic 503 jeans have been completely revamped after 15 years since their release. While maintaining the suppleness of the jeans, made with EKIAN (liquid ammonia processing), the yarn, fabric, pattern, and fit have been redesigned to reflect customer feedback. The slim fit and comfortable fit are enhanced with new zippers and pockets. Following the July 10th release of the slim-fitting 503 Narrow, three new lines—the basic 503 Regular Straight, the low-rise 502 Tight Straight, and the relaxed 504 Loose Straight—are available at specialty jeans stores and in jeans sections nationwide. Prices range from ¥8,925 to ¥10,500 depending on color and size. Edwin was founded in 1961, starting with domestically sewn denim imported from the United States. They continued to produce functional jeans that were in line with the times, such as "stone wash" jeans that give a used look, and "Venus Jean" jeans for women, and began selling them overseas in the 1980s. They have their own factories in Akita and Aomori prefectures, and have maintained their position as the number one selling jeans brand in Japan since 1983.
