Maison Margiela's Hankyu Men's Osaka location relocated (2nd floor, Hankyu Men's Osaka, 7-10 Kakuta-cho, Kita-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) and reopened in August 2017. Inspired by shipping containers, the store recreates the spontaneous arrangement of furniture and fixtures, with furniture removed from the containers and then improvised and arranged. A monochromatic trompe l'oeil carpet featuring a wood flooring pattern covers the entire floor and walls, while rolls of wool carpeting run from floor to ceiling, secured in place by silver-chrome jacks. The carpet is turned up, adding contrast and playfulness. Chairs previously housed in shipping containers have been covered in white Belgian cotton. A life-size shipping container has been transformed into a fitting room, creating a unique look. The store carries Maison Margiela men's ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes, accessories, and fragrances.
