Artist Shu Murakami's solo exhibition "ALTERNATIVE MEDIA" will tour journal standard Furniture Fukuoka Parco, etc. JOURNAL STANDARD Osaka, and journal standard Furniture Shibuya from September 15th.

Murakami also oversees the product brand amabro and produces lifestyle select shop "BRICK & MORTAR" and baby gift select shop "GIVING STORE."

The exhibition focuses on "ALTERNATIVE MEDIA," a series of works he is currently working on, in which he applies artwork to old newspapers. Witty one-liners are overprinted on newspaper pages carrying historical news and events, such as the Apollo moon landing and the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The words, which could be seen as both jokes and sarcasm, evoke a sense of humor and mockery of the media.

Artworks will also be available for purchase, including "Always HAVE AMERICA," "PINCH HITTER," "Business LUNCH," "S.KUBRICK'S" (56,000 yen each), and "I AM HERE" (38,000 yen), as well as limited edition Cup & Saucer (3 types, 3,200 yen each).
