From September 16th to 29th, the lifestyle shop BRICK & MORTAR in Nakameguro, Tokyo, will be hosting a two-person exhibition titled "Depaysements" by model and actress Sayaka Ena and bassist Akinobu Aoki of the instrumental metal band Rega.
The exhibition title "Depaysements" comes from the art term "d'épaysement," which means placing two seemingly unrelated things in the same situation to create a sense of incongruity and surprise in the viewer.
The works, created with the image of stepping out of the fields of modeling and acting and musicianship into a different field of expression, fuse these two different forms of expression to depict a new world.
Ena Sayaka, born in 1988, works as a TV personality and model, appearing in TV dramas and on radio, while also working on art such as oil painting, watercolor painting, three-dimensional design, graphic design, and collage, and held her own solo exhibition, "THE FIVE SENSE," in March of this year.
Meanwhile, Aoki Akinobu, born in 1981, is an artist who is the bassist for Rega, but also continues to work as a painter.
An opening reception will be held on the first day, and the artists themselves will also be in attendance.
