The launch party for the 2017-18 Fall/Winter collection of KAPPA KONTROLL, the new label from Italian sports brand KAPPA, will be held on September 1st at GR8 on the 2.5th floor of Laforet Harajuku.
Kappa Control, which has adopted a new creative director every two seasons, launched its first collection in the Spring/Summer 2017 season. This inaugural season saw the release of two collections inspired by Juventus FC, Kappa's first soccer team sponsorship contract in 1980, and the official uniform of the US track and field team, which Kappa designed for the 1984 Los Angeles-Seoul Olympics.
For the upcoming 2017-18 Fall/Winter collection, Jacopo Pozzati will take over as creative director, creating a collection inspired by soccer and skiwear from the late 1980s and 1990s. The items feature the iconic "LIKE NO OHE" graphic from Kappa's advertisements, as well as Kappa's "OMINI" logo, which features a man and woman standing back to back, reflecting the brand's philosophy of gender equality.
In Japan, the collection will be available at GR8 in Laforet Harajuku, as well as International Gallery BEAMS, JACKPOT, and Edifice Shinjuku. To celebrate the Japanese debut of the 2017-18 Fall/Winter collection, a party open to the public will be held at GR8 on September 1st from 7pm to 9pm.
