UK-based photo book publisher MACK will be releasing a limited edition of "Sleeping by the Mississippi," a photo book by American photographer Alec Soth, a full member of the international photography group Magnum Photos.

Following Robert Frank and William Eggleston, Alec Soth's road trip photography has influenced countless photographers. His first photo book, "Sleeping by the Mississippi," published by Steidl in 2004, made his mark and is one of the most coveted reprints of his time.

The photographs, centered on road trips along the Mississippi River, capture America's iconic yet often forgotten "Third Coast." The large-format color photographs lavishly and meticulously depict the people, landscapes, and architecture of the region. Along with the vividness of the subjects that appeals to all five senses, the book consistently reveals a melancholy inner human condition: loneliness, longing, and fantasy.

This reprint edition, which includes two new, previously unpublished works, features a new cover design with a revised crop, while retaining the same image as the first edition.

The book will be sold in two versions: the regular version, "SLEEPING BY THE MISSISSIPPI" (7,500 yen), and the special edition, "SLEEPING BY THE MISSISSIPPI SPECIAL EDITION" (73,000 yen/unframed, 92,000 yen/framed, limited to 150 copies). Both versions include a poster as a pre-order bonus. The regular version is available at select bookstores nationwide, and the special edition is available at twelvebooks.
