Beautiful People has begun releasing the first wave of items from its Paris debut collection for Fall/Winter 2017-18.
This season, the brand proposes new values that transcend boundaries by combining opposing elements such as "Japanese clothing" and "Western clothing," "Tokyo Pop monster colors" and "Parisian chic BCBG."
One of the most talked-about pieces is the "Ultimate Pima Twill Kimono Trench" (190,000 yen), which was inspired by the deep seams, collar lines, and linear silhouette of kimonos, and is an "available" museum piece that has been selected for collection by the Kyoto Costume Institute. Other items in the lineup include the unique "Mini Houndstooth Jacket" (93,000 yen), which has a deeper bodice to increase the number of buttons, making it look like an eight-eyed monster; the high-waisted "Mini Houndstooth Cigarette Pants" (45,000 yen), which incorporate the straight silhouette of Japanese kimono; the "Bicolor Beaver Hem Dress" (170,000 yen), which features sleeves that combine the cuffs of Japanese kimono with the ruffles of Western clothing; the "Supima Oxford Cotton Hat Shirt" (39,000 yen), which has a short front length and when worn, the side seams touch the front, creating a nuanced silhouette; and the "Big Pearl Earrings" (30,000 yen) and "Big Diamond Necklace" (65,000 yen), which are simply giant versions of single diamond and single pearl accessories.
Sales have already begun at the beautiful people Aoyama store, Isetan Shinjuku store and online shop, and will also begin at the beautiful people Isetan Closet Lucua 1100 and Hankyu Umeda stores from August 30th.
