Stella McCartney has unveiled its Winter 2017 advertising campaign, set in a Scottish landfill. Photographed by Harley Weir, the campaign is set in a landscape formed by the waste piles of Scotland's east coast. The images are illustrated by artist Urs Fischer, a collaboration between the two artists that embodies the brand's moral values. Models featured in the campaign include Brigit Kos, Iana Godnia, and Huan Zhou, who appeared on the runway that season. The textures and shapes of the tailoring, knitwear, velvet Falabella boxes, Stella Popper bags, sneakers, and runway sneakers are contrasted with the harsh reality of the landfill.
Stella McCartney said of the ad, "The focus was on portraying who we want to be and how we want to act. Our artificial environments are isolated from other life forms and planets, unaware of reality, which is why waste exists."
