Daikanyama T-Site will release the book-shaped lighting fixture "Lumio SF" (27,000 yen) in early July.
Lumio SF is a rechargeable portable lamp. When you open the wooden cover designed like a book, light spreads from the shade, which is modeled after the pages of the book. The light source is LED. The wooden cover has a built-in magnet and can be attached to metal surfaces. It can be used in a variety of ways depending on the situation, such as spreading it out 360 degrees to stand it up, or attaching the included strap to hang it. It can also be folded up small and carried around. It comes in two colors: deep walnut and light maple.
It was designed by Jakarta-born designer Max Gunawan. It has been featured in newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal and the San Francisco Chronicle.
