London-based apparel brand COS has announced that its first store in Japan will open in Aoyama, Tokyo.
COS is a brand founded by the H&M group in March 2007. It operates 95 stores in 20 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, offering reasonably priced products for men, women, and children. It opened its first Asian store in Hong Kong in 2012 and currently has 11 stores across Asia, with its first store opening in Korea this year. Further store openings are planned in China.
Marie Honda, COS's general manager of brands, had the following to say about the store's opening in Tokyo: "Tokyo is a vibrant and exciting city, and we believe the Aoyama area is the ideal location for Cos' first store in Japan. Japanese fashion and culture have always been, and continue to be, a great inspiration for all of us at Cos. We believe that launching the Cos brand in Japan is an essential element of our store expansion plans in East Asia."
