Giorgio Armani Prive, the haute couture line of Giorgio Armani, presented its 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter collection in the Palais de Chaillot ballroom.
This season's theme was "D'une boite laquee" (From a lacquered box), unifying the collection with just three colors—red, black, and white—primarily found in lacquerware.
Daywear featured tailoring centered on 1960s-inspired A-line coats and jackets. The pieces featured loose, puffy sleeves and textured, three-dimensional materials for a playful look, while maintaining sharp lines. These tops were often paired with shorts, creating a casual, relaxed look that caught the eye. Even within the limited color palette, the collection featured a wide variety of patterns, including diamond patterns constructed with braided tape, wide checks, and prints that resembled smudged black ink. In particular, polka dot prints of various sizes and sequin embroidery were featured on many items, including bottoms, tops, and coats. The evening wear that appeared in the second half of the show offered a wide variety of styles to suit any occasion, ranging from simple A-line mini dresses embellished with beads to voluminous dresses made of tulle that was boldly stripped to resemble fur. Polka dot patterns of various sizes were also featured on veils. The final dress, a long dress completely covered to the waist in organza fringe, made an impact and clearly demonstrated Armani's unique creativity in pursuit of sculptural beauty.
