Atelier Versace, which presented its first day of the 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter Haute Couture collection, held its show in a 19th-century mansion near the Arc de Triomphe, currently used as the Chamber of Commerce. Creative Director Donatella Versace's theme for this season was "construction/deconstruction." Focusing on tailored pieces, the collection pursued simplicity with stripped-down, sharp silhouettes. However, rather than stripping away everything, meticulous craftsmanship was sprinkled throughout, while unique fabric treatments maintained the lines, firmly maintaining the signature Atelier Versace aesthetic. A top featuring a gradient of micro-sequins was paired with a long skirt with one leg becoming pants, one of the season's signature pieces, for a groundbreaking look. Elaborate items such as a dress with leather fringe sewn all over, a fur jacket decorated with Swarovski crystal mesh, and a knitted crystal mesh knit were eye-catching. In the second half of the show, a dress was also introduced in which a rolled-up T-shirt formed part of the upper body, proposing a new approach to couture that also incorporated elements of workwear. Donatella commented, "Atelier Versace is a maison that offers true couture. I wanted to take on the challenge of peeling away parts of the fabric and express a modern couture style."
