Anno Moyoco's manga "Ochibisan" exhibition to be held in Marunouchi

Jul 29, 2014

The concept store "STITCH TOKYO" in Marunouchi, Tokyo, is hosting a special exhibition by female manga artist Moyoco Anno, "Moyoco's Work: The World of Ochibi-san," from August 5th to 31st.
The exhibition focuses on "Ochibi-san," a manga currently serialized in the magazine "AERA." Original drawings and related products from Anno's works, including this one, will be on display. Merchandise featuring the "Marunouchi Girls," a collaboration character with STITCH TOKYO, will also be available for purchase.
"Ochibi-san" is set in Mamezuru-cho, a town somewhere in Kamakura, and depicts the heartwarming daily lives of its residents. In addition to the main character, Ochibi-san, the manga features humorous characters such as "Pankui," a bread-loving dog, and "Shiroppoi," a creature born from the steam of melting snow.
The "Marunouchi Girls," meanwhile, are stylized representations of Japanese women as imagined by Anno. Based on the concept of "modern and elegant women," the design is suited to Marunouchi, where tradition and evolution coexist.
