Manga artist Anno Moyoco's "The Work of Anno Moyoco" will be held at Shin-Maru Building's STITCH TOKYO from August 9th to 25th. The exhibition will feature original illustrations from her manga series "Ochibisan," currently serialized in the Asahi Shimbun newspaper, as well as a special exhibition of her previous works, limited-edition merchandise created specifically for the event, and reproductions of original drawings. To commemorate the event, Anno will be selling thin-walled tumblers and celebratory sake cups from Matsutoku Glass, featuring her "Marunouchi Girl" design, a motif of Japanese women created by Anno based on the concept of a "modern and elegant woman." Anno was born in Tokyo in 1971. Her numerous manga depicting female psychology, as well as essays on food and beauty, have garnered widespread support. Her representative works include "Happy Mania," "Working Man," and "Sakuran," all of which have been adapted into TV dramas and films. She is currently serializing her essay "Kamakura Fantasy Landscape Book" in the literary magazine Kamakura Shunju and the magazine "Ochibisan." The Japanese version of the e-book "Ochibisan Volume 2" was released on July 19th. Her husband is Hideaki Anno, director of the anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion," and the voice actor for the main character in Hayao Miyazaki's currently-showing film "The Wind Rises."
