Swiss luxury watch brand TAG Heuer has announced the new "TAG Heuer Formula 1 Calibre 16 Chronograph Ayrton Senna Special Edition," paying tribute to its ambassador Ayrton Senna in Senna's original color, red.


The collaboration between TAG Heuer and Ayrton Senna began in 1988. Senna dominated F1 during his time, winning World Championship titles in 1988, 1989, and 1991. Paying tribute to Senna's legacy, TAG Heuer continues its quest to create the perfect Formula 1 watch worn by the legendary driver.


In collaboration with the Senna brand, TAG Heuer designers have chosen the red color of Ayrton Senna's original watch for this new model. The design of the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Calibre 16 Chronograph Ayrton Senna Special Edition is an elegant combination of red, anthracite, and black, following the design code of Senna's iconic "S."

Red lacquer accents the pushers and crown at 2 o'clock, as well as Senna's iconic double-S logo at 12 o'clock. The subdial at 6 o'clock also features a touch of red, complete with a customized red Senna logo. The azure finish and subdial enhance this model's sporty yet elegant design.


The beautiful anthracite sunray-finish dial features minute, hour, and second chronograph counters. The dial is finished in vibrant red, creating a luminous glow. The rhodium-plated applied indexes and hands are filled with white Super-LumiNova®, ensuring instant legibility at any speed and under any lighting conditions. This timepiece features an ultra-durable black ceramic bezel engraved with the number 400, symbolizing the 400 km/h speed never reached in F1.

This modern re-issue is also inspired by the first TAG Heuer chronograph worn by Ayrton Senna and its famous "S/EL" bracelet. The shock-resistant bracelet features a folding clasp with a driver extension, allowing it to fit over the sleeve of a racing suit.


The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Calibre 16 Chronograph Ayrton Senna Special Edition is powered by the Calibre 16. The case back is a stainless steel screw-down case back engraved with Senna's iconic helmet and also features a special engraving "SENNA SPECIAL EDITION."
