Michael Kors provides 5 million meals to hungry children

Jul 17, 2014

As part of its "Watch Hunger Stop" charity campaign, Michael Kors has provided 5 million meals to children suffering from hunger around the world.

Michael Kors entered into a long-term partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in 2013 and has been actively working to eradicate hunger. Designer Michael Kors said, "I am filled with gratitude and emotion. I believed our customers would help eradicate this issue, and now they have answered my call."

This fall, the brand will release the latest model in its specially designed "100 Series" watch, which provides nutritious food to 100 children with each watch sold. On October 16, the United Nations' World Food Day, donations to the WFP will be accepted at the registers of Michael Kors stores worldwide, including the Omotesando store. The brand will continue its efforts to solve the problem by posting content related to this initiative on its microsite and releasing a special charity campaign video.

On World Food Day in 2013, Michael Kors distributed free "Watch Hunger Stop" T-shirts in five cities around the world, including Tokyo and New York. The brand is also involved in charity activities, such as donating $5 million to God's Love We Deliver, a non-profit organization that provides individually tailored meals.
