23 shops around Tokyo Station participate in "Shaved Ice Walk" with Toraya, Mihashi, Aoki, and more

Jul 13, 2014

The limited-time event "Tokyo Shaved Ice Walk" will be held from August 1st to 31st in the Tokyo Station, Marunouchi, Yaesu, Ginza, and Nihonbashi areas. 23 stores will offer a variety of shaved ice flavors. Nara Tenpyoan's "Tropical" flavor, made with ripe mango pulp and honey, will be available at the Ecute Tokyo branch, while Kobeya Sylphy Grandage's "Beni Hoppe Strawberry Milk," made with pure ice frozen with natural water from the Tanigawa Mountain Range, will be available at the Marunouchi branch. Other participating stores include Patisserie Sadaharu Aoki Paris in the New International Building, TORAYA TOKYO in the Tokyo Station Hotel, and Mihashi, Yoku Moku, and Kyobashi Sembikiya in Tokyo Station Ichibangai. The first 10,000 customers to sample shaved ice at participating stores will receive a gift of one of 23 original badges featuring each store's shaved ice. On the second floor deck of the Gran Roof at the Yaesu exit of Tokyo Station, there will be an exhibition of 400 wind chimes collected from all over the country, as well as a rest area with benches, creating a space where you can take a break and feel refreshed. This event is being held in conjunction with ECO EDO Nihonbashi 2014 - Enjoy the coolness of Edo with all five senses, and is an initiative inspired by life in the Edo period that allows you to experience the cool weather around Tokyo Station with all five senses. Co-hosted events include the Nihonbashi Wind Chime Tour, where wind chimes will be displayed on the eaves of around 170 stores; the Nihonbashi Cruising - Boating from Nihonbashi, where you can enjoy the view from a boat; and the underwater art exhibition Art Aquarium 2014 - The Coolness of Edo and Goldfish.
