On July 24, CoSTUME NATIONAL held a reception at the CoSTUME NATIONAL Aoyama Complex in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo, to celebrate the arrival in Japan of the Aston Martin DBS Coupe ZAGATO Centennial, a one-of-a-kind special edition car commemorating Aston Martin's 100th anniversary. Costume National designer Enno Capasa designed the car's coloring, materials, and interior design, all inspired by the Mediterranean. This special edition, a collaboration between Costume National and the prestigious Italian coachbuilder Zagato, expresses the brand's essential minimalism while maintaining a fresh, fresh image. The car's use of the finest materials and beautiful blue interior and exterior accents are complemented by the deliberately rough texture of raw aluminum panels. Also on display at the venue was a capsule collection of resort wear inspired by a week-long getaway with this special car at Capasa's own villa in the Mediterranean, his birthplace. The collection offers a variety of styles, including one-mile wear for relaxing at the beach, driving wear for driving the special car around the villa, and chic outfits to wear when inviting friends over for dinner. The colors use the same deep Mediterranean blue as the special car as an accent color, and while the minimalist, edgy style is typical of Costume National, the jersey material makes for a comfortable design. The collection is available at Isetan Shinjuku Men's Store and all Costume National stores. "The thing I focused on most with this special edition car was combining futuristic elements with the comfort of the past. Based on a '70s aesthetic, I created a car that combines the future and the past. The blue color emphasizes its lightness. The key point is 3D. While clothing changes shape as you move, the shape of a car remains the same. However, in terms of my approach to design and creation, nothing has changed. Working on cars sometimes influences the colors and lines of the collection," Capasa explained. Regarding the resort wear capsule collection, he said, "I created everyday wear that pursues enjoyment, relaxation, and comfort. That's why I focused on knits as the main material." Also announced at the event were the Japanese releases of the Aston Martin special edition V8 Vantage N430 and the special edition DB9 Carbon Black/White, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
