LOEWE is selling new creative director Jonathan Anderson's first collection, the "Pre-Launch Capsule Collection," in the Handbags/Promotions section on the first floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building. It's on sale until the 29th. The smooth calfskin shopper bag (160,000 yen) features the new LOEWE logo on the front and comes in five patterns, including stripes and tartan. Made from a single piece of leather, it's lightweight and functional, with a zipper and inner pocket. The glossy calfskin "Triangle Bag" (199,000 yen) is available in four colors: red, yellow, navy, and black. The strap is threaded through the inside of the lid, so no metal hardware is used. The "Circle Bag" (199,000 yen), available in the same color, features a cutout in the body to create a handle. It's a witty, streamlined item, typical of Jonathan Anderson. The brand's iconic "Amazona" (360,000 yen) has been redesigned into a rounded trapezoid and comes with a removable strap. Another iconic bag, "Flamenco" (314,000 yen), features a knot on the side as an accent. A key ring with just the knot (41,000 yen) is also on sale.
In addition to bags, the brand also offers accessories such as the "Meccano Pin" (41,000 yen), inspired by the designs of Meccano, a British toy manufacturer founded by Frank Hornby in 1901, and three-dimensional coin cases (29,000 to 123,000 yen).
A pop-up store selling men's items from the collection is also open on the second floor of Isetan Men's Building until August 25th. The store offers a selection of large-sized bags, similar to the women's line, and four styles of clothing, including rider jackets and knitwear, are currently on sale. The calf leather "Anton Backpack" is a one-shoulder bag with a tassel pull and a zipper closure. The "Coin & Card Holder" (20,000 yen), with Loewe's anagram embossed all over it, is a popular item due to its functionality and affordable price. "The customer base has changed completely. Most of the customers are young people who say they came to see it because they're Jonathan fans. Long-time Loewe fans are also showing interest, and everyone seems to be looking forward to the next collection," said the buyer in charge.
