Mode in France 15SS exhibition to be held in July, expanding into Asia

Jun 27, 2014

MODE IN FRANCE 2015 Spring/Summer Collection, a comprehensive exhibition of French women's ready-to-wear, leather, and accessories, organized by the French Women's Ready-to-Wear Federation, will be held for three days from July 23rd to 25th at the Hilton Tokyo in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo.

With France's apparel export sales to Asia increasing 12% last year compared to the previous year, and Asia becoming an indispensable trading partner, MODE IN FRANCE will be held in Hong Kong (July 15th to 17th) and Taipei (July 19th to 21st) this year, aiming to expand business opportunities.

This year, the 37th edition of the event, will feature 40 brands from 38 companies, including five companies and five brands exhibiting for the first time. 33 brands from 31 companies in France, including Zyga, Rodica Zanian, Nathalie Chayes, and Catherine André, as well as 3 companies and 3 brands from the UK, 1 company and 1 brand from Belgium, and 1 brand from Poland will be showcasing their latest collections, which have just been unveiled at exhibitions in Paris such as Who's Next.

Following on from last time, Paris-based Japanese designers Miki Miari and Tsunoda Yukiko will also be exhibiting. A public relations representative for the exhibition said, "The number of exhibitors is down from 49 a year ago due to the impact of the strong yen and plans for major renovations, such as changing the venue from January next year and holding presentations in an open space. However, it is still up from 34 companies two years ago, and major brands are continuing to exhibit this year as well. Exports of women's wear from France to Japan last year also increased 1% to 167 million euros, and eight leading OEM companies with specialized techniques and craftsmanship, including luxury and collection brands, will be exhibiting at JFW-IFF (JFW International Fashion Fair), which is held on the same dates as Mode in France. These facts show that Japan remains an important market, and we expect business and visitor numbers to remain the same."
