Bottega Veneta Shanghai Exhibition Explores the Pleasures of Fantasy

Jul 4, 2014

Bottega Veneta is hosting the "Pleasures of the Imaginary" exhibition in the gallery space on the second floor of its Yifeng Galleria store on the Bund in Shanghai. It runs until the end of September.

The exhibition features works created by seven photographers and artists active throughout China, exploring the "pleasures of the imagination." Each work offers a unique interpretation of contemporary life and culture, demonstrating the deep passion for art among contemporary Chinese artists.

The exhibition is curated by Professor Gu Zheng, a Fudan University professor of visual culture and contemporary Chinese photography. He is also a renowned photographer and has previously curated exhibitions at New York University's Parsons School of Design and the Smithsonian Institution.

Tomas Maier, creative director of Bottega Veneta, commented, "We have gathered a collection of moving and stimulating works that surpass any previous exhibition. We hope our customers will fully enjoy their charm."

The store has a permanent space where various exhibitions can be held throughout the year, making it extremely unique among Bottega Veneta boutiques around the world. The gallery is run based on the idea that "art and culture are important to Bottega Veneta customers," and also aims to "support cultural projects that encourage the success of the next generation of artists."
